“Origine” explores the wellsprings of civilisation, and associated paradigms, it is also intensely, almost painfully, topical \u2013 sharply underscoring the solitude of 21st century existence, the omnipresence of the cult of consumerism and the barriers that rule over the global village the planet claims to be. And yet, it repeatedly reminds us \u2013 through movement, visuals and even costumes \u2013 of the continuity between the seemingly distant past and our own fleeting present.
