Land art, sometimes described as a specially American form of art, is characterized by grandiose scale \u2013 works that are made up of mile long lines in deserts or moving huge amounts of soil from one place to another. However, on the other end of this scale works which are as dwindling as melting snow, temporary as whirlwind or as imperceptible as a line of grass blades bent down by walking on them can be placed.
