<\/p>\nKim? Contemporary Art Centre is pleased to introduce its new Executive Director, Laima Rudu\u0161a. As of April, the Executive Director will be responsible for fundraising, managerial oversight and coordination of the education program. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Laima Rudu\u0161a<\/b> studied Art History in Boston, USA and held creative, managerial and administrative roles in contemporary art spaces in Boston, London and Riga. She worked on the public art collection at the <\/span>MIT List Visual Arts Centre<\/span><\/i>, as the artist assistant for American artist Phyllis Ewen, managed the finances and staff of a small experimental and commercial gallery, <\/span>GALERIE8<\/span><\/i>, in Hackney, London, and worked as the curatorial assistant at the Riga Art Space. From 2013 to 2016 she held the position of Project Manager at <\/span>Kim? Contemporary Art Centre<\/span><\/i>. She has lived in Germany for the last few years pursuing an MA in National, Transnational Studies and working in the education field.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The appointment of Laima Rudu\u0161a coincides with Kim? Contemporary Art Centre\u2019s 10th anniversary, in the context of which the centre has prioritised the development of an innovative and contemporary education programme in art for youth and children. The designation of an Executive Director will allow to expand the centre\u2019s public programme, as well as develop the education program at Kim? reaching a wider audience. The development of the program will take place in close cooperation with the current Program Director Kaspars Gro\u0161evs. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, founded in 2009, is a locally and internationally recognized art institution. This year, together with the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, Kim? represents Latvia at the 58th Venice Biennale, working together with the artist Daiga Grantina. The inauguration of the Pavilion takes place on May 10. Kim?\u2019s 10th anniversary is marked also with a solo exhibition by Katr\u012bna Neiburga, the opening of which occurs on April 25 at Kim?.<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kim?
