From September 11 to 14, Kim? Contemporary Art Centre will participate in viennacontemporary, the international contemporary art fair in Vienna. Kim? will present works by Latvian artists Anna Egle and Krista Vindberga to an international audience, strengthening the connection between the Latvian art scene and the global contemporary art discourse.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Krista Vindberga\u2019s newly created charcoal drawing series This Is Not A Love Story embodies collective memory and reveals the tension between the fragility and vulnerability of beauty. Inspired by photographs collected over nearly 25 years, she turns to the motif of blooming roses in the hands of young people, where hands and gestures become the central subject, illuminating the moment when romance transforms into melancholy and threat.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Anna Egle\u2019s works intertwine monumentality with delicate, jewel-like fragility. Her sculptures are marked by poetic lightness and layered symbolism, unfolding through transformations of form and evoking multidimensional meanings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation in the fair offers Latvian artists the opportunity to enter the view of international collectors, curators, and institutions, strengthening Latvia\u2019s presence in the global contemporary art scene. viennacontemporary is Austria\u2019s leading international contemporary art fair, bringing together galleries, artists, and art professionals from around the world each year. One of its main focuses is creating intersections between Eastern and Western European art.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anna Egle <\/b>(born 1990) is a sculptor from Riga. Her practice spans a wide spectrum\u2014from delicate, jewel-like sculptures to large-scale projects with clay figures up to 6 and 9 meters high, cast in bronze. In 2017, she earned her Master\u2019s degree in Sculpture at the Art Academy of Latvia. Since 2011, she has held solo exhibitions in Latvia and participated in group shows in Latvia and across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Krista Vindberga<\/b> (born 1989) is a visual artist working across media and scales, from small, carefully crafted drawings to large-scale scenographies for theater and opera collaborations. Her works fuse visual art and scenography into spatially intense, symbolic forms. Vindberga has held several solo exhibitions, participated in international shows, and received awards including recognition at the Prague Quadrennial (2019) and the Latvian National Theatre Award. She has twice been nominated for the Purv\u012btis Prize, and her works are held in the collections of the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art, and private collections.<\/span><\/p>\n
