Peripheral Vision, solo presentation of a new body of work by Evita Vasiļjeva

In Peripheral Vision (2026), Evita Vasiļjeva turns the urban periphery into a site of friction – between movement and stasis, structure and collapse, memory and the present. Inspired by daily crossings of the Boulevard Périphérique, the installation pairs elongated drawing-collages with unfinished concrete forms and lampshades marked with ink drawings of traffic, pavement, and seasonal change. Engaging with the architectural remnants of a society in transition, Vasiļjeva explores their afterlives, where use, obsolescence, memory, and rupture converge.

Evita Vasiļjeva (1985) is an artist and educator based between Riga and Paris. Working across sculpture, installation, drawing, and sensory environments, her practice explores the relations between space, material, memory, and perception. Her works transform industrial and everyday materials into spatial compositions that engage with uncertainty, vulnerability, control, and resilience. In 2026, Vasiļjeva participated in Manifesta 16 in the Ruhr region, Germany. She was nominated for the 8th Purvītis Prize (2022) and has exhibited at the Lyon Biennale (2022), Una Boccata d’Arte, Italy (2023), Kunsthal 44Moen, Denmark (2023), Baltic Triennial 14, Vilnius (2021), Muzeum Sztuki, Łódź (2020), Kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga (2019), Tallinn City Gallery (2018), and Fondation Ricard, Paris (2018). Her work is held in the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art and international private collections. Since 2025, she has co-founded and co-directed the Blue Lagoon Summer School in Riga with artist Kaspars Groševs.

About Post-Fair
Founded by gallerist Chris Sharp, Post-Fair is an alternative contemporary art fair launched in Los Angeles in 2025. Marking the fair’s first expansion beyond Los Angeles, Post-Fair Paris presents 34 ambitious solo and duo exhibitions by galleries from New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and beyond, staged across two neighbouring locations on Rue du Temple in the Marais, one of the city’s most historic and culturally vibrant districts. Designed to reduce costs for galleries while improving the visitor experience, Post-Fair reimagines the traditional art fair through an open-plan exhibition format centred on focused solo presentations. By prioritising accessibility, collaboration, and sustainability, and creating exhibition environments that foreground architecture as well as art, Post-Fair offers a viewing experience that feels closer to a curated exhibition than a conventional art fair, creating a more engaging environment for galleries, artists, collectors, and the wider public.
