Lecture / discussion “Photography on the Internet”

On Thursday, 1 April at 19:00 everyone was invited to attend the first lecture in the lecture series “Foto Kvartāls Readings”. This series of lectures will be devoted to the topicalities in photography and photo art.

Director of Delfi, initiator of Delfi.lv photography competitions Juris Mendziņš and photographer, director of photography news agency F64 Gatis Rozenfelds will contemplate the possibilities of professional growth and photographer’s career on the Internet; social photojournalism and public photography competitions. Does the distinction “amateur” and “professional” still exist? What is the status of these concepts in our dynamic world? How do the digital data exchange, the speed of it and its global nature influence the possibilities of distribution of photography and the development of photography itself? These and other questions will be discussed at the open discussion where creators of fotosiena.lv will also take part.
