Examples and Interpretations in Art Theory and Praxis: The Latvian Case

On December 2, 2010 at Kim? – readings in memory of the remarkable art historian Boris Viper – “Examples and Interpretations in Art Theory and Praxis: The Latvian Case”.

 

Boris Viper (1888-1967) is one of the most notable art historians in Latvia in 1920’s and 1930’s. He is the author of several prominent publications and books and he has worked also as a teacher in Art Academy of Latvia.

 

During the conference at Kim? library there will be a possibility not only to read valuable texts on art from our own collection but also to view an exhibition of books dedicated to art critic, theory and contemporary processes, recently bought for National Library of Latvia.

 

Conference is organized by Institute of Art History at the Latvian Academy of Art in cooperation with Kim? and with kind support of National Library of Latvia.
